The letter M birthday party

This party was a labor of love for my adorable 2 year old son Maddox.  Everything at the party started with the letter M.

I used brightcolors and polka dots as a base for decorating.

I made the Happy Birthday banner from chip board and letters cut from a Cricut. I secured each letter with ribbon. I made blue poms in hopes of hanging them from the ceiling. That did not work out so great.  So plan B is what you see in the picture.  I used 3M hooks to drape the teal fabric then used the poms to hide the hooks.  Needless to say procrastination paid off on that idea.

I missed getting pictures of the food that day.  I was upset at the time but I realized it was a good thing the food was gone. I served macaroni and cheese Maddox's favorite. We also had mini ham sandwhiches, bbq meatballs, mini oranges, muddy buddies, macoroons, and marshmallow treats.

M water labels thanks to my cousin.

The mini smash cake.  I think this was the cutest thing at the party. Besides Maddox of course.

Candy Bar - M & M's, Mounds, and colored gumballs.

Macaroons and Macadamian Nut Cookies

I made letter crayons to put in each kids party bag. Each bag also had mini markers, mini colored pencils, mini monster finger puppets, and mini water guns

This is the mantle in the living room. I cut letters out of foam board and distressed them with craft paint.  I used double sided tape to stick the poms on the wall.  I really wanted to leave it up but the husband overruled me.

Over all the party was a blast.  All the kids had a good time and all the family had a great time catching up.  I loved creating this party.  I know Maddox my not remember the day but I know he had fun.  I am so grateful to have him.

Decor- I took over Jill's house for the day.

The Food- Cheese and herb savory cupcakes with goat cheese topping, sugar cookies, mini appetizers from Archer Farms, and Oreo truffle pops(made by Shelly), mini lemon tarts, spinach and artichoke dip, and a fruit tray.

The bride's shoes!

The gift table
My favorite project of the summer was preparing for my best friend Jill's wedding. I started with her bridal shower in July. I was inspired by table cloths I had purchased for my wedding four years earlier. I used robin egg blue, yellow, and a coral pink. For those that know Jill she has a very elegant yet bubbly personality. That combination makes a perfect set up for a bridal shower. I can't take all  the credit. I had a termendous amount of help from Jill's sister Jessica and our sorority sister Mallory.
I am hoping to use this blog to share my love of finding beauty in everything. I believe that there is always a bright side. I have been told that I have an old soul. That would be because I love old movies,  the nostalgia of the forties, classic love stories, vintage decor, and anything chic.
